【Nippon Shokubai: Maximum Investment of 37.5 Billion Yen for New Lithium-ion Battery Electrolyte Plant】 Nippon Shokubai recently released a press release announcing the construction of a new lithium-ion battery material factory in Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan. The new plant will produce electrolytes with a maximum investment of 37.5 billion yen. Furthermore, the plant has been included in the subsidy recipient list announced by Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry on September 6th and is eligible for a subsidy of up to 12.5 billion yen. Upon completion, the annual production capacity of LiFSI at this new plant will reach 3,000 tons, equivalent to the demand for 210,000 electric vehicles. Japanese media pointed out that after the commissioning of this new plant, Nippon Shokubai's domestic production capacity of electrolytes will expand to ten times its current level.
