Jiangsu Seville's 1GWh Sodium-Ion Battery Project in Nantong Qidong Gets Green Light, Targeting Annual 1.5M Battery Cell Output

[Sodium-ion Batteries: Seville's 1GWh Nantong Qidong Project Approved] On September 6, 2024, Jiangsu Seville Energy Technology Co., Ltd.'s 1GWh sodium-ion battery full industrial line (Phase I) project was approved. The project is planned to be constructed on Haiquan Road in Qidong High-tech Zone with a total investment of 1 billion yuan, of which approximately 2 million yuan is allocated for environmental protection investments. Covering an area of approximately 54,996 square meters, the main construction components include a newly built battery cell factory as well as supporting public auxiliary works, storage and transportation projects, and environmental protection projects. The project has procured 374 sets of equipment, including slurry conveying systems and precision gap coating machines, and its primary production materials consist of positive and negative active materials, aluminum foil, and electrolytes. Upon completion, the project will have an annual production capacity of 1.5 million battery cells. Currently, the project has been registered and filed with the Offshore Town Government, with a project code of 2406-320660-89-01-654211.
