Hong Kong Polytechnic University Researchers Advance Sodium-Ion Battery Anode Technology with Graphite Modification

[Sodium-ion Battery Anode: Research Progress on Graphite-based Sodium-ion Battery Anode by the Hong Kong Polytechnic University] Recently, Professor Xu Zhenglong from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University has proposed a novel method to adjust the sodium affinity of graphite by manipulating ether solvents. By introducing sodium metal into the sodium-philic ternary graphite intercalation compound (t-GIC), they have successfully developed a Na/t-GIC anode with high capacity and low operating voltage (0.18 V). This research provides new insights into the sodium-philic chemistry of graphite and offers a potential solution for the preparation of high-energy sodium-ion batteries using cost-effective graphite materials.

On July 29, Yongshan Lithium (603399.SH) announced that it plans to issue A-shares to specific investors, with total funds raised not exceeding RMB 500 million (inclusive). After deducting issuance expenses, the entire amount will be used to replenish working capital. The subscriber is Yonghong Investment, a wholly‑owned subsidiary of the company’s controlling shareholder Yongrong Zhisheng, and the subscription funds will come from its own funds and self‑raised funds. The number of shares to be issued shall not exceed 71,839,080 shares (inclusive), representing 14.02% of the total share capital before the issuance.
