[SMM Daily Commentary: Rise in Lithium Carbonate Prices on September 11]
The SMM battery-grade lithium carbonate index price stood at 73,027 yuan/ton, marking an increase of 716 yuan/ton from the previous working day. The price range for battery-grade lithium carbonate was 71,800-75,000 yuan/ton, with an average price of 73,400 yuan/ton, up 950 yuan/ton from the previous working day. Industrial-grade lithium carbonate ranged from 68,500 to 70,000 yuan/ton, averaging 69,250 yuan/ton, an increase of 1,000 yuan/ton from the previous working day. Sentiment in the lithium carbonate spot market was influenced by fluctuations in production, prompting some upstream lithium salt factories to raise their quotes accordingly. The transaction focus for spot purchases by downstream material factories with rigid demand shifted notably upwards, while other material factories maintained their previous lower price points. The psychological expectations of upstream and downstream parties regarding transaction prices continued to diverge. Considering the actual supply-demand situation and cumulative inventory levels for the month, lithium carbonate spot prices may continue to fluctuate within a range.
