Dongfeng Motor announced on September 9 that automotive designer Ramon Ginah has joined the company as design director at its Shanghai design center.

Beijing (Gasgoo)- Dongfeng Motor announced on September 9 that automotive designer Ramon Ginah has joined the company as design director at its Shanghai design center.

Ginah brings 25 years of experience in the automotive industry, having previously worked with renowned brands such as Maserati, Ferrari, Great Wall Motor, and XPENG.

Ginah spent over a decade at Alfa Romeo, where he contributed to key projects including the Alfa Romeo 4C Concept, Giulietta, Giulia, and the New Duetto. His extensive experience in European and Chinese automotive design is expected to enhance Dongfeng Motor's design capabilities.

You Zheng, Deputy General Manager of Dongfeng Motor Corporation, recently disclosed that the company will reach the milestone of producing its 60 millionth vehicle in September. Moreover, sales of new energy vehicle under Dongfeng Motor’s wholly-owned brands are projected to approach 900,000 units this year, with a target of reaching one million units annually by next year.

In the first eight months of this year, Dongfeng Motor sold a total of 1,198,249 vehicles, representing a 7.14% dip year-on-year. However, the automaker’s new energy vehicle sales jumped 21.2% year on year to 220,529 vehicles.

Multiple silicon-based and lithium metal batteries were supplied in batches to industrial and consumer drones, and robotics products completed adaptation testing and small-batch supply. [Solid-State Batteries: SEVC POWER Completed Several Hundred Million Yuan in Financing, Accelerating the Industrialisation of Sulphide All-Solid-State Batteries] On 26 August 2026, solid-state battery enterprise SEVC POWER announced that it had completed external financing of several hundred million yuan. This round was co-led by existing shareholders Saike Investment and CICC Capital, with Zhongguancun Qihang, Dingfeng Kechuang, Zhongguancun Yulin, Linjie Venture Capital, Yibin Talent Fund, and Yibin Zhengchuang participating as co-investors. The proceeds will be used for the construction and capacity expansion of production lines for sulphide electrolytes, high-safety batteries, all-solid-state battery cells, and PACK, and to continuously advance the development of the material system, solid–solid interface, cycle life, and continuous manufacturing processes for sulphide all-solid-state batteries, while also expanding the R&D, engineering manufacturing, and marketing teams. The company was recently certified as an “Innovative Small and Medium-sized Enterprise of Sichuan Province (2026)” and was listed on the GEI China Potential Unicorn Enterprise List, marking dual recognition from both capital markets and the industry in the industrialisation track for sulphide all-solid-state batteries.
