Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On September 5, BYD, in partnership with local distributor Pilatus Group, held a grand launch event in Lusaka, Zambia's capital, unveiling three new all-electric car models for the local market: the Yuan PLUS (known internationally as the BYD ATTO 3), the SEAL, and the DOLPHIN.

These vehicles, including an SUV, hatchback, and sedan, are designed to meet the growing demand in Zambia for green, efficient, and smart mobility solutions. All three models are equipped with BYD's cutting-edge Blade Battery technology, ensuring superior safety and long-lasting range.

To boost brand visibility and engagement, BYD has placed large billboards at Lusaka International Airport and along the airport expressway. Additionally, the first BYD showroom in Zambia has officially opened at Foxdale Court Mall, one of the country's most eco-friendly shopping centers, which also houses Zambia's first 60kW fast charging station, offering added convenience for electric vehicle owners.

Steve Chang, BYD's General Manager for South Africa and Regional Director for Southern Africa, emphasized the company's commitment to leading green development through technological innovation and supporting the growth of Africa's electric vehicle industry. “Introducing these three models in Zambia marks a significant step forward for us in this market, bringing cutting-edge products to local consumers,” Chang said.

BYD's electric vehicle presence now spans 10 countries and regions across Africa, showcasing the company's global commitment to driving the green mobility revolution. Looking ahead, BYD plans to expand its operations in other African nations and accelerate the establishment of more service centers to meet the increasing demand for electric vehicles in the region.
