[SMM Data: LiPF6 august production data] in August 2024, LiPF6 production increased 11.9% mom, with a projected increase of 11% in September.

In August 2024, china's LiPF6 production increased by 11.9% mom and 6.6% yoy. This growth was mainly due to the rise in end-user market demand and the overall industry demand. The operating rate of LiPF6 factories improved compared to the previous month. However, due to a decline in LiPF6 prices in august caused by raw material factors, current orders are mainly on a cash-and-carry basis, with low inventory stocking intentions. Additionally, the operating rate of battery cell enterprises increased compared to July, and LiPF6 factories flexibly adjusted production according to market demand, resulting in a significant increase in production.

In August, the prices of lithium carbonate and lithium fluoride both declined, leading to an adjustment in LiPF6 prices. The average price of LiPF6 dropped from 57,150 yuan/mt to 53,950 yuan/mt, a decrease of 5.6%.

Looking ahead to September, end-user demand is expected to rise, driving an increase in demand for LiPF6. It is anticipated that china's LiPF6 production in september will grow by approximately 11.0% mom and 19.7% yoy.
