Beijing (Gasgoo)- KargoBot.ai, DiDi’s autonomous trucking subsidiary, recently held its 2024 Ecosystem Partner Conference and the establishment ceremony of the New Energy Autonomous Driving Fleet Transport Alliance in Ordos, Inner Mongolia. LiDAR maker Seyond, one of the first industry representatives, participated in the alliance signing.

Leveraging its high-performance LiDAR technology, Seyond will collaborate with KargoBot.ai and other alliance members to promote the commercialization of autonomous freight transport, aiming to build a safer, smarter, and more efficient transportation ecosystem.

As a leader in L4 autonomous freight technology, KargoBot.ai has initiated autonomous convoy transport tests in Ordos and established the Future Transport Robotics Research Center. The alliance comprises over 30 companies, including autonomous driving tech firms, automakers, Tier-1 suppliers, supply chain partners, and government support units.

Dr. Wei Junqing, CEO of KargoBot.ai, emphasized, “A true breakthrough in large-scale commercial operations requires the establishment of an industry ecosystem, not just the efforts of autonomous truck technology companies. This alliance, spearheaded by KargoBot.ai in partnership with Shaanxi Automobile Group, CIMC Vehicles, and Ordos Group, aims to achieve maximum resource integration and industry synergy.”

KargoBot.ai will leverage its autonomous convoy technology, supported by Seyond’s precise 3D data from high-performance LiDAR for enhanced system perception. Other partners will provide support in vehicle manufacturing, supply chain integration, financial backing, scenario empowerment, and policy advancement.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
