Xiaomi EV delivers over 10,000 SU7 vehicles in August

In August 2024, Xiaomi EV delivered over 10,000 units of the SU7 electric sedan, marking the third consecutive month of surpassing this mark. The company is on pace to achieve its 100,000 annual delivery target by November, ahead of schedule.

CATL, GCL expand strategic partnership in energy field

On August 29, CATL and GCL Group signed a comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement to deepen their partnership. The collaboration focuses on investments across the new energy industry chain, new energy infrastructure construction, green power market development, and innovative technology applications, aiming to build a new energy system.

XPENG AEROHT’s Huangpu factory start construction soon

Zhao Deli, founder and CEO of XPENG-affiliated eVTOL aircraft developer XPENG AEROHT, announced that construction of the company’s Huangpu factory will begin in late September or early October, with an annual capacity of over 10,000 units. 

DEEPAL L07 makes debut at Chengdu Motor Show, to hit market in September

On August 30, 2024, Changan Automobile’s new energy vehicle brand DEEPAL debuted its new mid-sized sedan, the DEEPAL L07, at the Chengdu Motor Show. As the second sedan offering from DEEPAL, the L07 integrates DEEPAL's Super Range Extending technology and Huawei’s Qiankun smart driving system. The model is set to hit the market in September.

Dongfeng Motor’s export arm ships 40,927 vehicles overseas in Jan.-Aug. 2024

China Dongfeng Motor Industry Import and Export Company (DFMIEC) exported a total of 7,222 vehicles to overseas markets in August this year, representing an 89% year-on-year surge, according to the company’s WeChat post on Monday.

VOYAH’s August auto deliveries surge 54% YoY

On September 1, Dongfeng Motor’s premium new energy vehicle brand VOYAH announced its delivery data for August, which came in at 6,156 vehicles, representing a 54% year-over-year surge.

Greater Bay Technology, UPower Energy team up on EV battery intelligentization, energy ecosystem development

On August 30, Greater Bay Technology, a fast charging technology developer internally incubated by GAC Group, and UPower Energy Technology (Guangzhou) Co., Ltd. (UPower Energy), which is wholly-owned by GAC Group, held a grand signing ceremony, marking the formal establishment of a long-term, mutually beneficial strategic partnership, according to a post on Greater Bay Technology's WeChat account.

On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
