Shanghai (Gasgoo)- In August 2024, NIO delivered 20,176 new vehicles, marking the fourth consecutive month of surpassing the 20,000-unit milestone, the company announced last Sunday.

From January to August this year, NIO delivered a total of 128,100 vehicles, reflecting a year-on-year jump of 35.77%. As of now, NIO's cumulative deliveries have reached 577,694 units.

Additionally, NIO's new sub-brand, ONVO, marked a significant milestone with the opening of its first stores on September 1. A total of 105 ONVO stores have been launched across 55 cities nationwide, showcasing the brand's first model, the ONVO L60.

The ONVO L60, which had previously opened for pre-sale at a price of 219,900 RMB, is scheduled to officially hit the market and begin deliveries in late September. The model's the first mass-produced unit rolled off the assembly line at its F2 factory in Hefei city on August 15.

As of August 5, 2024, NIO has surpassed 50 million battery swaps. This achievement comes just 144 days after reaching 40 million swaps in March this year.

Since the beginning of August this year, NIO has been averaging around 79,000 battery swaps per day, meaning a NIO vehicle leaves a swap station fully charged every 1.1 seconds.

The company said it has observed a growing number of users preferring battery swapping as their primary method of recharging. Nearly 60% of the energy replenished by NIO users now comes from the battery swap service. Compared to public charging, battery swapping has collectively saved users over 28.5 billion minutes.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
