BYD unveiled its new flagship MPV model, the Xia, at the Chengdu Motor Show 2024.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On August 30, the Chengdu Motor Show officially kicked off, showcasing a range of new vehicles. Among the highlights is BYD's new flagship MPV model, the Xia, which is set to hit the market later this year with a starting price expected around 300,000 yuan.

The Xia adopts BYD's signature "Dragon Facedesign, a hallmark of the Dynasty family lineup. Its distinctive "Dragon Whiskerstrim features a 3D structure with semi-transparent black spray paint, creating a strong sense of layering. The grille is styled with a dragon-scale armor pattern, giving the vehicle a bold and powerful presence.

Measuring 5,145 mm in length, 1,970 mm in width, and 1,805 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,045 mm, the BYD Xia offers a spacious interior. The model also features concealed sliding rails, enhancing its aesthetic appeal. At the rear, the vehicle's standout feature is its taillights, which maintain a traditional Chinese knot design. It will be equipped with the DiSus-C intelligent damping body control system, enhancing ride comfort and stability. Additionally, the Xia will feature BYD's DiPilot advanced driver assistance system, the DiLink 150 smart cockpit, and a high-performance chip. The vehicle will also incorporate BYD's fifth-generation DM technology, promising efficient and powerful performance.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
