According to the National Standards Information Public Service Platform, the national standard "Inspection Regulations for the Operating Safety Performance of New Energy Vehicles" was released on August 23 and will be officially implemented on March 1, 2025.
It is reported that the "Inspection Regulations for the Operating Safety Performance of New Energy Vehicles" will become China's first safety inspection standard specifically for new energy vehicles. The "Regulations" indicate that the safety (charging) inspection of traction batteries and electrical safety inspection will become mandatory inspection items, while safety features such as drive motors, electric control systems, and electrical safety will also be adjusted and inspected. They are applicable to the inspection of operating safety performance of in-use pure electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid vehicles (including extended-range electric vehicles).
