Beijing (Gasgoo)- On August 26, VOYAH, Dongfeng Motor’s premium new energy vehicle (NEV) brand, celebrated its first globally-oriented model, the VOYAH Zhiyin, rolling off the production line.

This model marks the fourth in VOYAH’s lineup and is the first vehicle developed on the brand's new in-house-developed BEV (battery electric vehicle)-dedicated platform, specifically designed for a global market from the outset.

Following the production ceremony, the VOYAH Zhiyin global edition and its domestic counterpart were loaded onto transport vehicles destined for Europe and Chengdu, signifying the model’s simultaneous launch in both international and domestic markets. The VOYAH Zhiyin is set to begin pre-sales at the 2024 Chengdu Motor Show on August 30.

In April, VOYAH achieved a significant milestone with the rollout of its 100,000th mass-produced vehicle. In the same month, VOYAH hosted its brand launch event in Italy, becoming the first Chinese state-owned high-end NEV brand to enter the Italian market. During the Auto China in Beijing on April 26, VOYAH unveiled its “Let’s VOYAH” global strategy, setting ambitious goals known as the “6655” targets: by 2030, VOYAH aims to establish a presence across six continents, enter 60 countries, build 500 sales and service outlets, and achieve cumulative overseas sales of 500,000 vehicles.

The VOYAH Zhiyin boasts a range of 901 km, alleviating long-distance travel concerns for NEV users. Its 800V silicon carbide platform enhances vehicle performance and efficiency, while the 5C fast-charging capability allows for the vehicle to run 515 km with just 15 minutes of charging, addressing range anxiety for long trips.

Inside, the smart cabin features a 15.05-inch curved OLED sliding screen and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chip, offering clear and smooth display and operation. The intelligent interaction system accurately recognizes voice commands for easy control of various vehicle functions, and the cabin provides a rich array of entertainment and information services, ensuring a pleasant experience for passengers on the move.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
