Chongqing Talent New Energy Co., Ltd. (“Talent New Energy”) recently completed a Series B strategic financing round with hundreds of millions of yuan raised.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Chongqing Talent New Energy Co., Ltd. (Talent New Energy) recently completed its Series B strategic financing round with hundreds of millions of yuan raised, the company announced on August 26 via its WeChat account.

The latest funding round was jointly led by Anhe Fund, a subsidiary of Changan Automobile, and several funds under China South Industries Group Corporation.

Prior to the new round, Talent New Energy previously completed five rounds of financing, with investors including Legend Capital, Liangjiang Capital, CICC Capital, China Merchants Venture, Zhengqi Holdings, and Guoding Capital.

As the global market for new energy vehicles (NEVs) rapidly expands, consumer demand for advanced battery technology has surged, making solid-state batteries a key area of innovation. Talent New Energy, a main player in Chinas solid-state battery sector, specializes in developing and commercializing next-generation solid-state lithium batteries and critical lithium battery materials. The company said it boasts comprehensive capabilities across the entire industry chain, including key materials, cell design, process equipment, and system integration. Since 2011, Talent New Energy's core R&D team has focused on solid-state battery technology, accumulating over a decade of expertise in key materials, advanced cell development, core processes, and thermal management, resulting in nearly 500 patents.

Talent New Energy added it has independently developed several cutting-edge technologies, including "High Conductivity Lithium-Oxygen Polymer Composite Technology" and "Interface Softening Technology." These innovations have successfully addressed challenges like low lithium-ion conductivity in oxides and solid-solid interface coupling within cost-effective parameters, significantly enhancing the inherent safety of the batteries. In response to market demands, Talent New Energy has pioneered the development and production of various advanced solid-state battery systems, including 4C ultra-fast charging semi-solid-state batteries. In April this year, the company successfully developed the world's first solid-state lithium metal battery with an ultra-high energy density of 720 Wh/kg and a single-cell capacity of 120 Ah.
