Beijing (Gasgoo)- On August 14, Dongfeng Motor’s premium new energy vehicle brand VOYAH officially commenced the nationwide delivery of its FREE 318 SUV model.

The VOYAH FREE 318, which hit the market in June this year, is available in two variants, namely, the rear-wheel-drive Huanyou Edition (name in Chinese pinyin), priced at 219,900  yuan during the initial sales period, and the all-wheel-drive Explorer Edition, priced at 247,900 yuan.

The vehicle’s exterior features a complete different design from the existing FREE model with a Blade Mecha design language, including a sharp, armored front fascia, sleek side profile, dynamic rear spoiler, and striking five-spoke alloy wheels. It also comes with colored four-piston sports calipers and offers a range of vibrant colors such as Crimson Red, Electric Green, and Gale Yellow.

In terms of intelligent features, the upgraded panoramic smart cockpit in the VOYAH FREE 318 boasts significant improvements in system responsiveness, featuring a zero-layer interface, lane-level precision navigation, and millisecond-level voice recognition. The vehicle is equipped with three core intelligent driving functions: efficient expressway navigation, comfortable urban driving assistance, and precise smart parking. Notably, it introduces cone recognition for enhanced safety during construction zones on expressways.

The vehicle’s chassis uses a front double-wishbone suspension and rear H-arm independent suspension, with an aluminum alloy content of 90%, offering quicker response, more accurate steering, and reduced body roll.

Power-wise, the rear-wheel-drive Huanyou Edition provides a 318km battery-powered range (CLTC) and a combined range of 1,458 km (CLTC), making it suitable for long-distance travel. The all-wheel-drive Explorer Edition delivers an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds, with a 259km battery-powered range (CLTC) and a combined range of 1,357 km (CLTC).

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
