IDC: Top Three Memory Manufacturers Rank Among the Top Four Semiconductor IDM Companies in Revenue for Q1 2024
According to an IDC report, the top three memory manufacturers, Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix, and Micron, rank first, third, and fourth, respectively, in the revenue list of semiconductor IDM companies for the first quarter of 2024, with Intel occupying the second position. The report indicates that the soaring demand for AI training and inference in data centers, particularly the significant increase in demand for High Bandwidth Memory (HBM), has driven the market. The high price of HBM and its compression of general-purpose DRAM capacity have also pushed up the average price of DRAM, contributing to significant revenue growth in the overall memory market. All three major memory manufacturers, Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix, and Micron, achieved over 50% year-on-year revenue growth in the first quarter of this year.
