Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On August 12, NIO launched the first Power Swap Station 4.0 for Beijing city, which is located at the Beitou Olympic Park's 1314-P4 ground parking lot, the Middle Aoti Road, according to NIO's announcement.

This station is also coupled with four ultra-fast charging piles (two at 640kW and two at 120kW) and operates 24/7 with a parking fee of 1.5 yuan per 10 minutes, with the first 10 minutes free. The launch of this station fills a significant gap in the city, providing essential support for the daily commuting needs of local residents and offering efficient energy replenishment for visitors traveling to Beijing.

The fourth-generation NIO Power Swap Station features six ultra-wide-angle LiDAR sensors and four Orin X chips, delivering a computational power of 1016 TOPS. This advanced technology supports one-click automatic battery swapping and valet battery swapping. Compared to the previous generation, the new station boasts a 22% increase in swapping speed, with the fastest swap taking just 2 minutes and 24 seconds. The station can now accommodate 23 battery slots, allowing for up to 480 swaps per day, significantly enhancing both efficiency and service capacity.

Alongside the battery swap station, NIO has introduced a 640kW fully liquid-cooled ultra-fast charging pile. Each pile offers a maximum power output of 640kW, a maximum output current of 765A, and a maximum output voltage of 1,000V. The charging cable, developed in-house by NIO, features liquid cooling and weighs only 2.4kg, making it easy to handle with one hand.

As of August 12, 2024, NIO has established 107 power swap stations (excluding decommissioned stations) and 147 electric vehicle charging stations across Beijing, with over 90% NIO users having lived less than 3 km away of a NIO battery swap station. Collectively, these stations have provided more than 5 million charging and battery-swapping services to users.

From the nationwide perspective, NIO's first batch of Power Swap Stations 4.0 was launched in mid-June this year at the Liwan Huadi Plaza in Guangzhou city and the G40 Shanghai-Xi’an Expressway Luoji Service Area in Lu'an city.
