China's Electrolytic Aluminum Industry Faces Cost Inversion, Loss-Making Capacity Reaches 3 Million Tons

The instant cost of China's electrolytic aluminum industry reached 17,621.66 yuan per ton on August 6, 2024, while the average national spot aluminum price of BaiChuanYingFu at that time was 18,718 yuan per ton. According to statistics, the loss-making capacity of China's electrolytic aluminum industry approached 3 million tons, accounting for 7% of the total operating capacity. Currently, several electrolytic aluminum enterprises have fallen into a state of cost inversion.
