Intalco Aluminum LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Alcoa Corporation, is the operator of the closed Ferndale aluminum smelter. The company recently agreed to a $5.25 million settlement with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to resolve Clean Air Act violations discovered during an EPA inspection in 2019.
