[UK Media: NVIDIA Faces Challenges in Next-generation Chip Production]

According to the Financial Times, NVIDIA (NVDA.O) and its key supplier Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSM.N) are encountering production challenges with their highly anticipated next-generation, most powerful AI chips, potentially delaying shipment plans for this year. Sources familiar with the matter indicated that NVIDIA's cutting-edge designs leverage TSMC's new manufacturing process, and during the preparation for mass production of its Blackwell series of data center chips, certain models have encountered difficulties. NVIDIA declined to comment but reiterated that "Blackwell production is proceeding as planned," with mass production scheduled to commence in the second half of 2024. NVIDIA added that demand for its existing Hopper chips remains "very strong.
