Shanghai (Gasgoo)- BYD recently put its pure electric SUV, the Yuan UP, onto the Colombian market, according to a post on BYD's WeChat official account.

The Yuan UP features the "Dragon Face Aesthetics" design language, characterized by streamlined, softer lines and a vibrant color palette that adds a lively touch to the vehicle's appearance. Equipped with BYD's e-Platform 3.0 and CTB (Cell to Body) integrated battery technology, the SUV not only enhances overall safety and efficiency but also significantly improves space utilization. The model launched in Colombia offers an NEDC-rated range of up to 380 kilometers.

Since 2020, BYD has partnered with Colombian distributor Motorysa to provide local consumers with new energy passenger vehicles and expand its distribution network. At present, BYD's new energy vehicles are available in multiple cities across Colombia, including Bogotá, Medellín, Cali, and Pereira, with over 10 sales outlets. The latest expansion has solidified BYD's position as one of the leading new energy vehicle brands in the Colombian market.

Notably, the BYD Yuan UP also hit the Chilean market in Santiago, the capital of Chile, at Farellones snow mountain in recent days. This marks the ninth model introduced by BYD into this country, further expanding its local vehicle lineup.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
