Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On August 8, BYD officially put two new models from its Ocean series—the 2025 Seal and the Seal 07 DM-i onto the market.

The 2025 Seal is available in four trim levels, priced between 175,800 yuan and 239,800 yuan. The Seal 07 DM-i comes in five variants, priced between 139,800 yuan and 195,800 yuan.

2025 Seal

The 2025 Seal is the first sedan built on the e-Platform 3.0 Evo and also the first BYD model to feature LiDAR technology. By deeply understanding user needs, the 2025 Seal has evolved comprehensively in aesthetics, handling, comfort, and safety.

The carmaker said the 2025 Seal incorporates 13 globally pioneering technologies from BYD, including the CTB (cell-to-body) technology, an efficient twelve-in-one intelligent electric drive system, intelligent fast charging (current boosting, end-point boosting, and voltage boosting), full-scenario intelligent pulse self-heating technology, and the iTAC (intelligent torque adaption control) system. It comes standard with the 1,200V silicon carbide electric control system across its entire lineup, using a motor with a maximum rotation speed of 23,000 rpm, capable of reaching a top speed of 240 km/h. Additionally, BYD has integrated these technologies to create a comprehensive intelligent fast-charging solution.

The 2025 Seal is equipped with the advanced "God's Eye" intelligent driving assistance system, DiPilot 300, which includes LiDAR. This enables expressway and urban navigation, allowing users to preset their destinations and autonomously manage on-ramps, lane changes, overtaking, and traffic lights.

Seal 07 DM-i

The Seal 07 DM-i is BYD’s first mid-to-large sedan featuring the fifth-generation DM technology. With this technology, the Seal 07 DM-i delivers superior energy efficiency, boasting a fuel consumption of just 3.4L/100km with a depleted battery in NEDC conditions and a combined range of over 2,000 km on a full tank and full charge.

This model is also the first to feature the 1.5Ti engine include in the fifth-generation DM technology, balancing power and energy efficiency.

The Seal 07 DM-i brings five significant updates in comfort, intelligence, safety, quality, and style, with over 26 standout configurations as standard across the range. For driving and riding experience, the top-spec verion include FSD (frequency selective damping) shock absorbers for improved chassis control and comfort. The entire series is equipped with the DiPilot intelligent driving assistance system, offering L2 driving assistance to help users navigate complex traffic conditions with ease. The Seal 07 DM-i is also equipped with 13 airbags across all variants, enhancing safety. Moreover, the interior quality has been upgraded, featuring a standard flowing gray interior color scheme and real aluminum trim, catering to the aesthetic preferences of younger users.

Additionally, the Seal 07 DM-i introduces a new 1.5L 70KM variant to meet diverse user needs.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
