Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Chinese smart electric vehicle maker XPENG today announced that pre-sales for the MONA M03, the first production model under XPENG's fire new MONA series, has begun on August 8 at 10:00 AM.

The MONA 03 model made its global debut on July 3. Targeting a price range under 200,000 yuan, it is set to hit the market later this month.

The exterior of the new car features the "Smart Design AI Quantitative Aesthetics" design language. The headlights use a "010" split-type 3D starburst design, providing strong visual recognition. The lights contain 300 LED bulbs, offering an illumination distance of up to 150 meters and excellent lighting effects when turned on.

Aerodynamics plays a crucial role in the MONA M03's design, with 15 air resistance optimization projects. Notably, it comes standard with an active grille shutter (AGS), a rare feature in all-electric vehicles. The C-pillar also includes an aerodynamic spoiler design, showcasing innovative thinking. As a result, its drag coefficient reached only 0.194 Cd.

The side profile of the all-electric car reveals a sleek fastback design with hidden door handles. The car measures 4,780 mm in length, 1,896 mm in width, and 1,445 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,815 mm.

At the rear, the taillights mirror the front headlights' design and feature a smoked finish. The small ducktail design on the trunk lid adds to the youthful, sporty feel. The car also includes an electric hatchback tailgate and offers a trunk capacity of 621 liters.

In terms of power, the MONA M03 will be available with two electric motor options, delivering maximum power of 140 kW and 160 kW, respectively. The range will also vary based on the battery capacity, with options for 515 km and 620 km.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
