Vedanta Reports 36% YoY Rise in Alumina Production in Q2" On August 6, Vedanta released its first-quarter results for fiscal year 25. This achievement is attributed to the additional 1.5 million tonnes of production capacity commissioned at the Lanjigarh alumina refinery during the quarter, bringing the total capacity to 3.5 million tonnes. Furthermore, aluminum production increased 3% YoY to 596,000 tonnes, remaining flat QoQ. The total production cost of aluminum stood at $1,716 per tonne, down 11% YoY and flat QoQ, primarily due to reduced raw material costs and enhanced operational procurement efficiency. Additionally, the quarter witnessed aluminum profits of $915 per tonne, up 134% YoY and 53% QoQ, benefiting from the rise in aluminum prices.
