Beijing (Gasgoo)- Recently, UBTECH Robotics, Geely, and Miracle Automation Engineering (MAE) announced a strategic partnership to leverage their respective resources and advance the application of humanoid robots in intelligent manufacturing for the automotive and auto parts sectors, aiming to create innovative demonstration applications.

In early July, Geely’s ZEEKR 5G Smart Factory welcomed its first humanoid robot employee, UBTECH's industrial humanoid robot Walker S Lite. Designed for smart manufacturing and logistics, Walker S Lite is a lightweight, rapidly deployable new product. It has been training for 21 consecutive days at the ZEEKR 5G Smart Factory, collaborating with employees at the CTU inbound loading station to perform material handling tasks. This marks the first full-process execution and public demonstration of a humanoid robot handling material boxes in China, achieving high levels of task completion and execution difficulty.

Since the beginning of this year, UBTECH has focused on enhancing the tool operation and task execution capabilities of humanoid robots in key manufacturing sectors such as automotive and 3C. UBTECH has been at the forefront of global partnerships with various automakers, integrating its robots into factory training. In early 2024, UBTECH's industrial humanoid robot Walker S began training at NIO’s second advanced manufacturing base assembly workshop. Subsequently, Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor, FAW-Volkswagen Qingdao, and Geely Auto have also collaborated with UBTECH to develop demonstration production lines and factories for humanoid robots, achieving large-scale and in-depth applications in typical manufacturing scenarios.

The partnership between UBTECH, Geely, and MAE will accelerate the industrialization of humanoid robot technology and promote intelligent manufacturing to higher levels and broader fields.

UBTECH will utilize its leading technological advantages and product expertise in AI and humanoid robots to assist Geely in its electrification and intelligent transformation. Geely will provide application scenarios for UBTECH’s Walker S series and solutions to enhance smart manufacturing. MAE will leverage its engineering implementation strengths to support the application of humanoid robots with production line data collection, process model development, and scenario improvement design.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
