Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On August 3, Geely’s new energy vehicle range Galaxy officially put its first pure electric SUV model, the Galaxy E5, onto the market with initial vehicle deliveries commencing simultaneously.
The new model is available in five trim levels, with limited-time guidance prices ranging from 109,800 yuan to 145,800 yuan. Geely is offering significant purchasing benefits for customers who firm up their orders by October 1, 2024.
In a groundbreaking move, Geely has also opened up its core technology for hidden door handle unlocking in new energy vehicles, aiming to foster greater industry collaboration on user safety.
The exterior of the Geely Galaxy E5 features Galaxy’s latest family design language, characterized by a minimalist and highly technological appearance. The front end boasts a closed-off grille with an illuminated Geely Galaxy emblem at the center, flanked by sleek and sharp LED headlights that enhance its distinctiveness. Additionally, blacked-out elements on the front bumper add a sporty touch to the overall design.
The side profile of the new SUV continues the clean design, with slightly protruding wheel arches and glossy black fender trims creating a muscular look. The use of hidden door handles and low-drag wheels further improves its aerodynamics and range performance.
At the rear, the slimmer full-width taillights provide high recognition when illuminated, while the smoked rear bumper elements enhance the visual layers of the rear end.
Inside, the cabin of the Geely Galaxy E5 exudes simplicity and technology. It features a fully digital instrument cluster, a large-sized floating central control screen, and a head-up display (HUD) system, paired with a novel dual-spoke multifunctional steering wheel.
The new model also comes with the Flyme Auto infotainment system, powered by a 7nm SE1000 chip, ensuring smooth operation and a rich array of entertainment options.
In terms of comfort, the Galaxy E5 is equipped with "marshmallow" seats covered in perforated leather, with the front seats offering heating, ventilation, and an eight-point massage function. Additionally, an optional WANOS panoramic sound system with 16 speakers is available.
The new SUV measures 4,615mm in length, 1,901mm in width, and 1,670mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,750mm.
Under the hood, the Galaxy E5 is powered by an electric motor delivering a maximum output of 160kW and a peak torque of 320 N·m. It also features Geely’s self-developed G-TCS all-weather traction control system. The vehicle offers two range options, 440km and 530km, catering to different driving needs.
