BYD’s passenger vehicle export volume soars 65.2% YoY in July 2024

BYD reported an export volume of 30,014 PVs for the month of July, indicating a 65.2% year-on-year surge.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- BYD Company Limited announced on the first day of August that its automobile sales reached 342,383 units in July 2024, jumping 30.6% over a year ago and hitting the highest-ever level on a monthly basis.

Of the vehicles sold last month, 340,799 units were contributed by the passenger vehicle (PV) sector, representing a year-on-year leap of 30.52%. Breaking down the July PV sales by powertrain solutions, the battery electric vehicle (BEV) segment recorded a sales volume of 130,000 units, facing a slight dip of 3.55% over the previous year, but the plug-in hybrid electric vehicle sales soared 66.87% from a year earlier to 210,799 units.

In addition, BYD reported an export volume of 30,014 PVs for the month of July, indicating a 65.2% year-on-year surge.

In the same month, the company's commercial vehicle (CV) sector sold 1,584 vehicles (+50% YoY), including 267 buses (-4.64% YoY).

As for the performance of specific brands or product ranges, BYD’s Dynasty and Ocean ranges together sold 328,178 vehicles in July, displaying a robust year-on-year growth of 31.3%. Moreover, DENZA, YANGWANG, and FANGCHENGBAO brands logged vehicle sales of 10,340 units, 439 units, and 1,842 units, respectively.

For the first seven months of the year, BYD saw its cumulative sales jump 28.83% over the year-ago period to 1,955,366 units, including 1,947,944 PVs (+29.07% YoY).
