Shanghai (Gasgoo)- In July 2024, Chinese smart electric vehicle maker XPENG delivered a total of 11,145 new vehicles, marking a year-over-year increase of 1% and a month-over-month growth of 4%. Among these, the XPENG X9 MPV model saw 1,459 units delivered, bringing the cumulative deliveries to 14,602 units since its market launch seven months ago.
From January to July of 2024, XPENG delivered a total of 63,173 vehicles, representing a 20% jump compared to the same period last year.
The month of July also saw a significant achievement for XPENG's autonomous driving technology, with the XNGP urban intelligent driving system achieving an 84% penetration rate among monthly active users. On July 30, the XPENG Smart AI Technology Conference was successfully held in Guangzhou. At the event, XPENG's Chairman and CEO He Xiaopeng announced that the XNGP has been upgraded from "operable nationwide" to "practically usable nationwide," enabling unrestricted use across all cities, routes, and road conditions. By the fourth quarter of 2024, XPENG aims to overcome intelligent driving "blind spots" such as ETC toll stations, parking lot barriers, and internal park roads, ultimately realizing a true "door-to-door" experience.
Last month, XPENG and Volkswagen Group signed strategic cooperation agreement under which both parties will collaborate intensively to develop an industry-leading electronic and electrical architecture for Volkswagen’s CMP and MEB platforms in China (namely, China Electronic Architecture, short for CEA). The first model based on this joint development is expected to go into mass production within the next 24 months.
The month of July also marked the grand opening of XPENG's first flagship store in Hong Kong, where the right-hand drive version of the XPENG G6 model was unveiled there for the first time. In the fourth quarter of this year, the right-hand drive version of the XPENG X9 will also debut in Hong Kong. By the end of the year, the Cantonese-speaking AI assistant "Xiao P" will be launched with the Tianji XOS in-car operating system.
According to XPENG, the first batch of XPENG MONA M03 display cars has arrived at sales stores in 100 cities across China on August 1. The MONA M03 is set to officially hit the market later this month.
