On July 30, 2024, BAIC Group’s commercial vehicle arm Foton Motor's Global Multipurpose Vehicle Center Factory celebrated the production of its 700,000th vehicle.

Beijing (Gasgoo)- On July 30, 2024, BAIC Group’s commercial vehicle arm Foton Motor's Global Multipurpose Vehicle Center Factory celebrated the production of its 700,000th vehicle.

Foton Motor has consistently emphasized technological innovation and increased its R&D investment, centering its efforts in Beijing. The company has established 18 R&D centers worldwide, focusing on new energy vehicle technology, intelligent connected vehicle technology, energy-saving technology, and lightweight technology. Foton Motor

has also accelerated its smart manufacturing initiatives, building a comprehensive intelligent manufacturing system that spans the entire commercial vehicle and component industry chain. The company's annual production capacity stands at 800,000 vehicles, with 21 domestic and 22 overseas KD factories, achieving a global industrial layout.

Located in Weifang, Shandong province, the Foton Motor Global Multipurpose Vehicle Center integrates R&D, production, testing, logistics, and customer interaction. Built to German Industry 4.0 standards, the factory extensively uses intelligent robots and boasts advanced production processes. Its production lines are highly automated, flexible, and environmentally friendly, enabling large-scale mixed-model manufacturing. Since commencing operations in August 2012, the center has produced 700,000 vehicles, generating over 70 billion yuan in sales revenue. In 2023, the factory's output value reached 9.35 billion yuan, with products exported to 35 countries and regions.
