On July 31, 2024, GAC Energy and Shenzhen Hongfei Energy Co., Ltd. celebrated the launch of their first co-built large supercharging in Dongguan city.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On the morning of July 31, 2024, GAC Energy and Shenzhen Hongfei Energy Co., Ltd. ("Hongfei Energy") signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Dongguan city, Guangdong province, and celebrated the launch of their first co-built large supercharging station, according to a post on GAC Energy's WeChat account.

The newly opened charging station, which will mainly serve the users of GAC AION’s Hyper brand, marks a milestone for both parties' cooperation. The station is equipped with seven 360kW and two 240kW charging units, totaling 50 charging terminals. Alongside providing ultra-fast charging capabilities, the station offers various amenities including car washing services, a lounge, a convenience store, and restrooms, delivering a comprehensive and considerate high-quality charging experience to users.

As a key partner of GAC Energy, Hongfei Energy has engaged in deep cooperation in areas such as resource development, station construction, joint projects, equipment sales, and cross-industry integration. Together, they have co-built over 100 supercharging terminals in Dongguan city. Looking ahead, the partnership aims to expand their efforts, with a target of jointly constructing over 300 supercharging terminals by the end of 2024.

This initiative aligns with the "Dongguan City Implementation Plan for Large-Scale Equipment Upgrades in the Energy Sector," released by the Dongguan Development & Reform Bureau on April 18, 2024, which emphasizes the need to accelerate the intelligent enhancement of electric vehicle charging and battery swapping infrastructure, said GAC Energy. The opening of the new supercharging station represents a concrete step by GAC Energy and Hongfei Energy in responding to government policies, promoting the upgrading and renovation of energy equipment, and advancing high-quality development of new energy vehicle charging infrastructure.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
