Beijing (Gasgoo)- On July 30, Stellantis N.V. and Chinese new energy vehicle maker Leapmotor jointly announced that their 51/49 joint venture, Leapmotor International, has shipped its first batch of Leapmotor C10 and T03 electric vehicles from Shanghai to Europe.

This milestone demonstrates the commitment of Stellantis and Leapmotor to rapidly deliver sustainable mobility solutions and innovations to the European electric vehicle market. The Leapmotor C10 and T03 models are equipped with cutting-edge electric vehicle technology, offering excellent performance, efficiency, and range.

As of early July 2024, Leapmotor has delivered over 400,000 electric vehicles cumulatively.

Leveraging Stellantis' distribution channels, Leapmotor International plans to increase its sales outlets in Europe from 200 by the end of 2024 to 500 by 2026, ensuring high levels of service for local customers. The shipment of the C10 and T03 models marks the beginning of a long-term collaboration between Stellantis and Leapmotor, aimed at transforming the electric vehicle market in Europe and beyond. Over the next three years, Leapmotor International intends to launch at least one new model annually.

The C10 is Leapmotor's first globally-oriented product designed to meet international standards of design and safety. It is built on Leapmotor's proprietary LEAP 3.0 technology platform, featuring a centralized electronic and electrical architecture, integrated CTC (cell-to-chassis) battery technology, and a flagship intelligent cockpit. The C10, a well-equipped B-segment family car, offers a WLTP range of 420 kilometers and achieves a 5-star safety rating under E-NCAP standards.

On the other hand, the T03, a small five-door A00-segment city commuter car, combines the interior space of an A0-segment vehicle with style and driving pleasure, boasting a WLTP range of 265 kilometers.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
