[Porsche May Acquire Shares in Battery Enterprise] German battery manufacturer Varta AG is discussing two restructuring plans, which may involve the acquisition of shares by luxury sports carmaker Porsche. The two restructuring plans include a potential new investor plan (involving the current major Austrian shareholder Michael Tojner and Porsche) and another plan for financial creditors. Valued at 440 million euros (approximately 3.45 billion yuan), Varta said earlier this month that it was in negotiations with Porsche on the possibility of investing in its large-scale lithium-ion battery business unit, V4Drive. The two companies have signed a non-binding letter of intent for investment and are finalizing the details. If the cooperation is successful, Porsche will own a majority stake in V4Drive.
