Recently, China's first cross-regional UHV DC project adopting flexible DC technology at both sending and receiving ends, the Gansu-Zhejiang ±800 kV UHV DC Project, has received approval from the National Development and Reform Commission, boosting the export of power from northwest China to a higher level.
The Gansu-Zhejiang ±800 kV UHV DC Project is a key project specified in China's "14th Five-Year Plan for Power Development". Originating from Wuwei City, Gansu Province, the project traverses Ningxia, Shaanxi, Henan, and Anhui provinces before delivering the integrated wind, photovoltaic, thermal, and energy storage power to Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province. The total length of the transmission line is approximately 2,370 kilometers with a rated transmission capacity of 8 million kW, and the total investment in the project is about 35.3 billion yuan.
