Beijing (Gasgoo)- On July 23, the authority of Chongqing Liangjiang New Area signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Geely Holding Group and MEGVII, an AI company focused on IoT scenarios for the development of an AI-enabled open platform.

According to the agreement, the three parties will leverage Chongqing's manufacturing base and industrial advantages, MEGVII's key AI technologies, and Geely's expertise in vehicle development and manufacturing to jointly build an AI smart mobility open platform. This collaboration aims to establish an innovative development model integrating "AI + Vehicle + Robot" and create a benchmark project for new production capabilities.

Yuan Jiajun, Secretary of the Chongqing Municipal Party Committee, expressed his hope that companies like Geely Holding Group and MEGVII would strengthen their strategic alignment with Chongqing, engage in pragmatic cooperation, and increase their investments in intelligent connected new energy vehicles and AI industries in the region. Chongqing is currently enhancing its "33618" modern manufacturing industry cluster system to become a major growth driver and new source of momentum for high-quality national development.

Last year, Chongqing introduced the "33618" modern manufacturing industry cluster system.

The plan focuses on creating three trillion-yuan-level leading industrial clusters in intelligent connected new energy vehicles, next-generation electronic information manufacturing, and advanced materials. Additionally, it aims to upgrade three 500-billion-yuan-level pillar industry clusters, including intelligent equipment and smart manufacturing, food and agricultural product processing, and software information services. The plan also seeks to innovate six 100-billion-yuan-level characteristic advantage industry clusters, covering new displays, high-end motorcycles, light alloy materials, textiles, biomedicine, and new energy and energy storage. Furthermore, it aims to nurture and expand 18 "new star" industry clusters, which include six future industry clusters and 12 high-growth clusters valued at over 50 billion yuan and 10 billion yuan, respectively. The future industry clusters will focus on areas like satellite internet, cutting-edge new materials, and future energy.
