The International Aluminium Institute (IAI) announced on Monday that the global primary aluminum production in the first half of 2024 increased by 3.9% year on year to 35.84 million tons, mainly driven by the increase in production in China. Aluminum prices rose to a two-year high in late May, prompting producers to increase production. Since then, aluminum prices have fallen by 17% cumulatively. (WenHua Finance)
