ZEEKR puts ZEEKR 001, X models onto Mexican market
On July 21, Geely’s premium electric vehicle brand ZEEKR officially released the ZEEKR 001 and ZEEKR X models in Mexico. The ZEEKR 001 starts at 988,000 pesos (approx. 397,700 yuan), while the ZEEKR X starts at 799,000 pesos (approx. 321,600 yuan).
Huawei’s smart driving tech-powered VOYAH Zhiyin said to be priced at about 250,000 yuan
Sources reveal that the VOYAH, the high-end new energy vehicle brand under Dongfeng Motor, is expected to price the new Zhiyin SUV’s Huawei Smart Driving edition at around 250,000 yuan. The Zhiyin boasts a maximum combined range of 901 km, an 800V high-voltage platform, and can add 515 km of range in just 15 minutes with 5C fast charging.
Leapmotor C16 nabs over 10,000-unit fixed orders in first month on market
On July 22, Chinese new energy vehicle maker Leapmotor announced that its new mid-to-large six-seater SUV, the Leapmotor C16, accumulated fixed-orders of over 10,000 units in its first month of release.
Alexander Pollich appointed President, CEO of Porsche China
On July 20, Porsche announced that Alexander Pollich will officially assume the role of President and CEO of Porsche China starting September 1, 2024. He will oversee the brand's operations in the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, and Macao. The current President and CEO of Porsche China, Michael Kirsch, will transition to another significant position within the group.
Xiaomi unveils SU7 Ultra Prototype with 1,548 horsepower

BYD introduces three BEV models in Vietnamese market
On July 18, BYD announced its foray into the Vietnamese market with the introduction of three battery electric vehicle (BEV) models: the BYD SEAL, BYD DOLPHIN, and BYD ATTO 3 (known as Yuan PLUS in China). Prices for these models start at 659 million VND (approximately 202,559 yuan).
BYD launches BYD M6 all-electric MPV model in Indonesia
BYD recently launched the all-electric MPV, the BYD M6, at the 31st GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS), marking a significant milestone as it is not only BYD's first MPV model released for the Indonesian market but also the first all-electric MPV to be introduced in Indonesia, according to a post on BYD's WeChat account.
XPENG, Volkswagen Group ink agreement for joint development of E/E architecture
On July 22, XPENG, a Chinese smart electric vehicle maker, and Volkswagen Group announced the signing of a joint development agreement for electronic and electrical (E/E) architecture. This follows their former strategic cooperation framework agreement signed on April 17, 2024.
All New ZEEKR 009 MPV model hits market, starting at 439,000 yuan
On July 19, ZEEKR, the premium electric vehicle brand under Geely Holding, put the refreshed version of its ZEEKR 009 flagship MPV model, the All New ZEEKR 009, onto the market. The new product is available in both seven-seat and six-seat layouts, offering three trim levels priced between 439,000 yuan and 469,000 yuan. Deliveries are set to begin on July 22.
