The release marks a significant milestone as it is not only BYD's first MPV model released for the Indonesian market but also the first all-electric MPV to be introduced in Indonesia.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- BYD recently launched the all-electric MPV, the BYD M6, at the 31st GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS), marking a significant milestone as it is not only BYD's first MPV model released for the Indonesian market but also the first all-electric MPV to be introduced in Indonesia, according to a post on BYD's WeChat account.

The BYD M6 comes with both seven-seat and six-seat layouts (with individual seats) in Indonesia, featuring a price range of IDR 379 million and IDR 429 million (approximately RMB 170,000 to RMB 193,000).

At the launch event, Zhao Yue, BYD Indonesia General Manager, stated, "BYD is committed to leveraging technological innovation to fulfill people's aspirations for a better life and to actively promote the development of Indonesia's new energy vehicle industry. The launch of the BYD M6 not only underscores BYD's deep commitment to the Indonesian market but also responds to the urgent demand from Indonesian consumers for environmentally friendly transportation."

In addition to the M6, BYD also introduced two new configurations for the BYD DOLPHIN and the BYD ATTO 3 (known as "Yuan PLUS" in China) on the day of the auto show: the BYD DOLPHIN Dynamic and the BYD ATTO 3 Advanced. These models come with more competitive pricing and enhanced features, providing Indonesian consumers with more diverse options.

BYD said it has been conducting extensive research to understand local market preferences and consumer needs since entering the Indonesian passenger car market in January this year. The introduction of the BYD M6 and the new configurations of the DOLPHIN and ATTO 3 models demonstrate its commitment to meeting the strong market demand for high-quality electric vehicles and services.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
