Shanghai (Gasgoo)- BYD recently held a grand brand launch event in Dakar, the capital of Senegal, marking the official introduction of its battery electric vehicle, the Yuan PLUS (known as the BYD ATTO 3 outside of China), to the Senegalese market, according to a press release BYD issued on July 19 via its WeChat account.

The event took place in Dakar, a city renowned for its rally races, adding special significance to the occasion and attracting significant attention from industry insiders, media, and consumers. This launch is expected to infuse new momentum into sustainable transportation across West Africa.

The BYD Yuan PLUS is positioned as the ideal companion for urban commuting, boasting cutting-edge technology, a stylish appearance, and zero-emission green attributes. The introduction of this model aims to provide Senegalese citizens with more environmentally friendly, efficient, and intelligent travel solutions, accelerating the transition towards a low-carbon transportation system in the region. CFAO, BYD's strategic partner and exclusive distributor in Senegal, will fully support BYD's sales and after-sales operations locally.

At the launch event, Mr. Yao Shu, BYD's Sales Director for Africa, stated, "BYD is committed to providing environmentally friendly, high-quality travel options to consumers worldwide through technological innovation. The launch of BYD in Senegal is another milestone for us in the West African market. We will continue to increase our investment in the Senegalese market and bring more innovative products to local consumers."

To date, BYD's new energy passenger vehicles have left green footprints in nine African countries and regions, including South Africa, Morocco, and Tunisia.
