Lanxi Zhide New Energy Materials Co., Ltd. recently completed its Series D financing round.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Lanxi Zhide New Energy Materials Co., Ltd. (“Zhide Battery”), a Chinese lithium battery materials supplier, recently completed its Series D financing round, securing hundreds of millions of yuan, according to the information updated by Tianyancha, a Chinese company information inquiry platform.

The latest round draws investment from SAIC Motor-backed Shangqi Capital, Everest Venture Capital, and others.

According to Tianyancha, the new round brings the company's total number of financing rounds to five since its establishment.

Founded in December 2018, Zhide Battery is dedicated to the R&D, production, and sales of high-energy-density lithium battery composite materials. Its main products include high-capacity silicon/carbon anode materials for lithium batteries, such as ZDS01 (low-cost, standard-efficiency silicon anode material), ZDS02 (new high-efficiency silicon anode material), and ZDS03 (new high-rate silicon anode material). These products are widely used in batteries, 3C electronics devices, and electric vehicles.

The company began developing silicon-carbon anodes in 2016 and now possesses core technology for the low-cost nanofabrication of silicon-carbon materials.

In July 2021, Zhide Battery's first-phase 500-tonne silicon-carbon anode material project for lithium batteries commenced production. These products have been trialed for over a year by nearly 30 key domestic and global clients. The second-phase 3000-tonne project is also actively progressing.

With the increasing demand for high-energy-density batteries in new energy vehicles and consumer electronics, the silicon-based anode materials industry has seen significant growth. Silicon-based anode materials not only enhance the energy density of batteries but also offer good safety and fast-charging performance. Industry experts predict that the shipment volume of silicon-based anode materials will continue to grow rapidly, with a promising market outlook.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
