Beijing (Gasgoo)- On July 17, automotive computing chip supplier Black Sesame Technologies announced that its A1000 chip has successfully helped Dongfeng Motor’s eπ007 model upgrade its intelligent driving capabilities.

The upgrade, delivered through the eπ OS 1.2.0 system, enhances the vehicle’s advanced driving functions, including expressway NOA (Navigation on Autopilot) and LAPA (Long-range Automated Parking Assist), along with several practical features and user experience improvements.

The top-spec variant of the eπ007 is equipped with Black Sesame Technologies’ A1000 automotive-grade high-performance autonomous driving chip, fully supporting L2+ advanced driver assistance systems. Post-OTA (Over-The-Air) upgrade, the eπ007 excels in meeting daily driving needs. The integration of the high-computing power intelligent driving system powered by the A1000 chip enables comprehensive route planning with expressway NOA, allowing the vehicle to autonomously follow traffic, change lanes, and navigate ramps on expressways.

Additionally, the eπ007 now features a range of practical advanced driving functions, including LAPA, TLC lever controlled lane changes, and ALC (Automatic Lane Change).

As Dongfeng Motor’s fresh all-electric coupe sedan model, the eπ007 stands out in various aspects, boasting up to 31 intelligent sensing hardware components. The Black Sesame Technologies chip offers robust computing power for the eπ007’s intelligent driving platform, ensuring comprehensive safety for smart driving through its integrated driving and parking control platform based on the A1000 chip.

The single A1000 chip supports complete driving and parking functions, providing automakers with high-performance and cost-effective autonomous driving solutions. Currently, the A1000 is in mass production and has been adopted by several leading Chinese automakers, including FAW Group, Dongfeng Motor, Geely, and JAC Group. Production models utilizing this chip include the Lynk & Co 08, HYCAN V09, Lynk & Co 07, Dongfeng eπ007, and Dongfeng eπ008.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
