Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On the evening of July 17, ZEEKR, the premium electric vehicle brand under Geely Holding, announced via its Sina Weibo account the right-hand drive version of the ZEEKR X model had hit the market in Hong Kong, China, with a starting price of approximately 232,600 RMB.

The latest move in Hong Kong closely followed the market launch of the right-hand drive ZEEKR X in the Thai market on July 16. In Thailand, the standard version is priced at 1,199,000 THB (approximately 240,000 RMB), while the flagship version is priced at 1,349,000 THB (approximately 270,000 RMB).

ZEEKR has stated that by the end of 2024, it plans to open 14 stores in Thailand to provide comprehensive services and after-sales support to Thai customers. Currently, four ZEEKR pop-up stores have already opened in Bangkok's commercial districts.

The first batch of right-hand drive ZEEKR X cars rolled off the production line in June this year, with the company projecting deliveries to start in the third quarter. ZEEKR aims to fully enter the right-hand drive market, targeting regions such as the UK, Japan, India, Australia, Hong Kong, and Macao.

ZEEKR is rapidly expanding its global presence. By the end of June, the company had entered over 25 major markets worldwide, including Sweden, the Netherlands, Germany, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia, and had signed agreements with partners in Israel and Kazakhstan.

In Southeast Asia, ZEEKR has entered markets in the Philippines, Laos, and Thailand so far in 2024. In Europe, ZEEKR has started car sale in Sweden, the Netherlands, and Germany, with European ZEEKR flagship stores opening in Sweden and the Netherlands, and deliveries already underway.

Looking ahead, ZEEKR plans to make foray into the markets of Cambodia, Singapore, Malaysia, Myanmar, Indonesia, and Vietnam by the end of 2024. The carmaker aims to enter more than 50 major international markets this year, spanning Europe, Asia, Oceania, and Latin America.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
