Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Volkswagen Anhui, the Chinese joint venture majority-owned by German carmaker Volkswagen, recently revealed it is set to put its first all-electric model, the ID.UNYX (Chinese name: 与众), onto the market on July 17. The new vehicle will feature a distinctive golden Volkswagen logo.

According to the patent images previously released by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the new model boasts a brand-new design style. It features sharp front headlights paired with a full-width light strip, creating a striking visual impact. The segmented lower bumper and large air intakes further enhance the vehicle's sporty character.

From the side, the ID.UNYX adopts a coupe SUV silhouette, with sharp waistlines and skirt lines that give it a muscular appearance.

At the rear, the vehicle sports a full-width taillight design, incorporating an illuminated brand logo for a modern touch. The large diffuser underscores its sporty positioning.

In terms of dimensions, the new model measures 4,663mm in length, 1,860mm in width, and 1,610mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,766mm.

In terms of power, the ID.UNYX will be available in both single-motor and dual-motor setup. The single-motor version has a total power output of 170kW, while the dual-motor version boasts a total power output of 250kW. The vehicle is equipped with an 82.4kWh ternary lithium battery, offering a range of 621km and 565km under the CLTC cycle, respectively.

[Solid-State Battery: ProLogium Technology Mass-Produces High-Energy-Density All-Solid-State Battery Gen3.5 Reaching 381 Wh/kg and 903 Wh/L] On September 2, 2026, ProLogium Technology announced that its latest Gen3.5 lithium ceramic battery (LCB) has entered mass production at its Giga-level industrial platform in Taiwan. According to a third-party TÜV test report, the 185.4 Ah large-format cell achieves a volumetric energy density of 903 Wh/L and a gravimetric energy density of 381 Wh/kg, and is classified as an all-solid-state battery under the GB/T43568-2026 standard. Building on more than a decade of commercial mass-production experience and a scalable Giga-level manufacturing platform constructed across three generations of production lines, it meets the demands of EVs and other high-performance applications for lightweight design, driving range, and fast recharging, and will be extended to the Gen4 all-inorganic electrolyte system. On January 23, 2024, the Taoyuan base in Taiwan invested TWD 4.2 billion, approximately CNY 960 million, to build its first production line and begin solid-state battery production. Initial capacity is 0.5 GWh per year, sufficient for 14,000 EVs, with a final scale of 2 GWh.
