Beijing (Gasgoo)- On July 9, SAIC Motor and Purple Mountain Laboratories signed a strategic cooperation agreement, announcing comprehensive collaboration in several key areas, including intrinsic safety technology, cybersecurity testing tools and services, and cloud control platform security for intelligent connected vehicles.

The partnership will introduce the industry’s first “intrinsic safety vehicle” — SAIC Motor’s Level 3 autonomous vehicle, which will incorporate intrinsic safety technology (cyber mimic defense technology) as a critical innovation. Additionally, the collaboration aims to establish a cybersecurity testing platform and system for automotive components, supporting information security management across the supply chain. The partnership will also advance the security planning of Shanghai's city-level vehicle-to-everything (V2X) cloud control platform, designing and implementing secure solutions.

SAIC Motor has been proactive in the field of intelligent connected vehicle cybersecurity since 2018, when it established the industry’s first cybersecurity laboratory and emergency response center. In 2021, SAIC Motor and Tencent founded a joint cybersecurity laboratory, focusing on standards, attack and defense technologies, secure development, and operations for intelligent connected vehicles. By 2022, the automaker collaborated with Shanghai University, QAX, and Fudan University to establish the “Shanghai Intelligent Connected Vehicle Cybersecurity Industry Innovation Center.”

Currently, SAIC Motor has developed robust cybersecurity capabilities for intelligent connected vehicles, covering remote, near-field, in-vehicle, and on-board security scenarios. SAIC continues to leverage domestic cybersecurity expertise and innovative forces to build a highly reliable, trustworthy, and available digital security foundation for intelligent connected vehicles.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
