Beijing (Gasgoo)- On July 3, Ji Yue, the automotive robot (Robocar) maker co-backed by Geely and Baidu, announced that its PPA (Point-to-Point Autopilot) intelligent driving system, based on Baidu Apollo’s advanced urban intelligent driving solutions, is now available in 300 cities in China as of June 30.

This follows the addition of 100 cities in May, with 196 more cities covered in June, bringing the total available road coverage to over 500,000 kilometers.

Currently, Ji Yue's PPA intelligent driving system comprehensively covers national expressways and elevated roads. Following this upgrade, the system now supports 26 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions in China, including Xinjiang, Inner Mongolia, Jilin, and Hainan, handling complex and varied road conditions. The company aims to achieve nationwide coverage soon.

In conjunction with the iteration of Baidu Apollo's intelligent driving technology, Ji Yue has also announced the release of version 1.6.0 system upgrade to all users. This new version includes significant updates to the intelligent driving perception model, greatly enhancing the perception distance and recognition accuracy of obstacles, allowing for earlier predictions and improved safety.

The Ji Yue 01 is currently the only vehicle in China, and one of the only two globally, to employ pure vision technology for advanced intelligent driving.

According to Ji Yue, powered by Baidu Apollo's advanced autonomous driving atomic capabilities and safety system, along with the complete pure vision technology approach of BEV+OCC+Transformer, the PPA intelligent driving system achieves centimeter-level accuracy in obstacle perception. This precision extends to temporary road construction barriers, roadside breakdown vehicles, and large garbage bins, significantly enhancing adaptability and providing smooth follow and lane change capabilities.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
