LG Energy Solution Signs Deal to Supply Lithium Iron Phosphate Batteries to Renault's Ampere for First Time, Securing EV Supply Chain

[South Korean Battery Giant to Supply Lithium Iron Phosphate Batteries on a Large Scale for the First Time] On July 2nd, LG Energy Solution, a South Korean battery manufacturing giant (hereinafter referred to as LGES), announced that it would supply lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries to Ampere, an electric vehicle subsidiary of Renault. According to the supply agreement signed by the two companies on July 1st, LGES will provide Ampere with lithium iron phosphate batteries with a total capacity of approximately 39 GWh from the end of 2025 to 2030, sufficient to produce about 590,000 battery electric vehicles. These batteries will be produced in LGES' factory in Poland. This deal marks the first time that LGES has reached a supply agreement for lithium iron phosphate batteries for electric vehicles.
