[SMM Flash News] Since June, continuous heavy rainfall has hit many regions in the south of China, causing frequent landslides and floods, leading to market concerns that it may further exacerbate the shortage of domestic zinc concentrate. In response, SMM conducted an investigation on several mines in the rainy provinces in the south. According to the survey results, only a few lead-zinc mines in Sichuan and Guangxi were affected by the continuous heavy rainfall, with an impact on zinc concentrate production of about 700 metric tons. The transportation of mines in various regions is still normal. Therefore, SMM believes that from the perspective of production and transportation, the recent heavy rain in the south has had a limited impact on lead-zinc mine production in June, and SMM will continue to pay close attention to the follow-up developments.
