Beijing (Gasgoo)- On June 25, Geely’s premium new energy vehicle brand ZEEKR received the first batch of "Ningbo Intelligent Connected Vehicle Road Test Permit" from Ningbo authorities.

This allows ZEEKR's unmanned vehicles to obtain temporary license plates and conduct road tests in Ningbo city, advancing its autonomous driving technology development and application.

ZEEKR's unmanned vehicles will commence autonomous driving tests on the Shenglu Elevated Road, reaching speeds of up to 80 km/h. The vehicles feature Level 3 conditional autonomous driving capabilities, allowing the system to handle driving tasks under certain conditions while the driver remains ready to take control if necessary. Key functions include automated driving in congested expressway and urban fast roads. During these tests, a safety officer will sit in the driver's seat with their hands off the steering wheel.

Previously, Geely Holding Group, ZEEKR's parent company, partnered with renowned autonomous driving technology company Waymo. ZEEKR will provide vehicles for Waymo One's unmanned fleet, based on the SEA-M architecture and equipped with WaymoDrive's Level 4 autonomous driving capabilities for future commercial operations in the United States. In June, ZEEKR's self-developed SEA-M intelligent driving system obtained an L3 expressways autonomous driving test permit for Shanghai.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
