Beijing (Gasgoo)- On June 25, SAIC General Motors (SAIC-GM) officially unveiled to the public its RoboTest unmanned intelligent vehicle testing platform ("RoboTest Platform"). This platform is the first of its kind developed by an automaker and integrated into the entire vehicle testing and certification process.

The RoboTest Platform, operational since 2020, has now reached a mature and systematic application stage. It comprises two core components, namely, the vehicle-side controller and the cloud-based control center. The vehicle-side controller integrates driving robot systems, positioning and sensing equipment, and control modules. Designed to be lightweight, standardized, and modular, it allows for quick installation and removal without altering the vehicle's original structure. The cloud-based control center remotely configures testing protocols, monitors and manages test paths in real-time, and wirelessly transmits and analyzes test data to ensure high efficiency and accuracy.

Compared to traditional human-driven testing, the RoboTest Platform's robotic system offers high precision and durability, significantly improving test quality and verification efficiency. It eliminates human factors and equipment errors, ensuring accurate and reliable results in endurance, wheel-turning durability, and constant-throttle tests. For potentially hazardous tests like airbag calibration, the robotic system greatly enhances safety. Additionally, the platform digitizes vehicle testing protocols, serving as a digital testing assistant to support manual testing, thereby improving accuracy and efficiency.

The RoboTest Platform has been widely used in various test rigs and road test sites at the Pan Asia Technical Automotive Center, demonstrating strong applicability and reliability in endurance, noise, emissions, thermodynamics, and performance tests, as well as in road tests on Belgian roads, handling tracks (G0 level), and other hazardous conditions. To date, it has covered 1.5 million kilometers in endurance tests alone and will continue to meet future testing needs across more scenarios.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
