According to customs data, China exported 12,017 mt of lithium hydroxide in May, up 11% MoM and 10% YoY.

According to customs data, China exported 12,017 mt of lithium hydroxide in May, up 11% MoM and 10% YoY. Exports to South Korea and Japan reached 7,461 mt (+2% MoM, -4% YoY) and 4,036 mt (+37% MoM, +39% YoY), accounting for 62% and 34% of the total respectively. The average export price of lithium hydroxide was $21,479/mt, up 21% MoM but down 56% YoY.

2026 Power Battery Installations Expected Up 15.8% YoY

At the 2026 annual forum of the China Automotive Power Battery Industry Innovation Alliance, Ma Xiaoli, Deputy Director of the National Innovation Center for Power Batteries, said that China's power battery installation demand for the full year 2026 is expected to reach 888.7 GWh, up 15.8% YoY.
