[National Energy Administration: China's installed capacity of new energy storage exceeded 38GW by May 2024] At a press conference held by the State Council Information Office on June 20 to promote high-quality development, Li Chuangjun, director of the New Energy Department of the National Energy Administration, stated that new energy storage is an important component of the new power system and new energy system, and has become a key supporting technology for China's construction of new power systems and new energy systems. Its development can drive the development of upstream and downstream industry chains, promote technological innovation, talent cultivation, and investment employment, and become one of the new drivers of new productivity. By the end of May this year, China has completed and put into operation new energy storage projects with an installed capacity exceeding 38 million kW, and an average energy storage duration of 2.2 hours. Twelve provinces and regions have installed capacities exceeding one million kW.
